Eveningstar

North of the King's Forest lies a small farming village - a common stop for adventurers before the Drow began their vicious assault on the surface world.
Description[edit]
Eveningstar is a public area introduced in Update 14. It is the player hub in the Forgotten Realms, serving a similar purpose to Stormreach. The village of Eveningstar is located in the kingdom of the Cormyr, approximately 100 miles North of the capital city, Suzail, and the Lake of Dragons is located near the northern edge of the King's Forest.
The High Road, a major trading route in Northern Cormyr (running from the city of Arabel, in Eastern Cormyr, to the Western Storm Horns and the cities of Easting and Proskur beyond), crosses the Starwater river at Eveningstar and runs along the Northern side of the village.
See the FR wiki entry for more details on Eveningstar in the Forgotten Realms campaign setting.
Access to Eveningstar[edit]
As of Update 71, it is no longer necessary to complete the Web of Chaos chain to reach Eveningstar, as heroic content has retroactively been added to the Forgotten Realms setting at levels lower than the chain. However, Teleport spells and Guild Airship teleporters still don't allow direct access to areas outside the Eberron setting, so access might take a few steps:
- The simplest way to access Eveningstar is to head to the Gatekeeper's Grove and take one of the two portals to the Eveningstar Cavern or Wheloon Docks, two public areas directly connected to Eveningstar.
- The most direct way is to use a a Hall of Heroes Passport, free to VIPs and all Iconic characters, and available for purchase from the DDO Store. The Passport lets you use the Transport to Forgotten Realms button on the Character Selection screen to move your character to the Hall of Heroes in Eveningstar (this does require logging out if you are currently in-game.)
- A character that accrues enough Purple Dragon Knights favor may claim a Key to the City - Eveningstar, a teleport clicky that takes them to Eveningstar directly. However, this item has a 30-minute recharge time between each use.
- Players who own the Ultimate Collector's Edition of Magic of Myth Drannor may also reach Eveningstar via the Outskirts of Myth Drannor by using an expansion teleport item to take them there.
- Completing the Web of Chaos arc and Beyond the Rift on your current life opens a portal to the Eveningstar Cavern in the Harbor, and many content packs from settings other than Eberron and the Forgotten Realms (Ravenloft content, Keep on the Borderlands, The Isle of Dread) allow players to enter from Eberron and exit to Eveningstar. (Other than Keep on the Borderlands, which is accessible from Korthos Island, earlier in the game than any other route that doesn't require purchasing an item, none of these are particularly useful as access routes compared to the above options.)
- You can return to Eberron via teleportation from any point in the Forgotten Realms: Teleport and related spells, Guild Airship Beacons, Commemorative Stormreach D12s all serve this purpose. Alternatively, you can take many of the routes described above in reverse.
