What to Expect

Gather your party before venturing forth

Known Traps

Trap DCs (Heroic); Trap DCs (Epic)

2 Blade Traps before 2nd door. Each trap Control panel is right after the blade.
- The second Control Panel is quite high up the wall – you'll need to jump onto a nearby lamp to reach it.
Many Dart Traps at pool. 1 trap Control panel at center on a small raised rock, but only it disables the traps upon that rock.
Rolling boulders (4 of them) released by a kobold high above on a steep rock, just after the dart room when you pass through a narrow crack. It can be avoided by sending one person in first who stays hard to the right-hand wall.
After the "Oversized" effects are applied, all those traps – even if previously disabled – will reactivate and function again (and cannot be disarmed). However, they do very little damage at this point; a fact which is called out by the DM voiceover.

Tips and Misc

You will be under the effects of a Dimensional Anchor after you seek out Mortigon, you will not be able to Dimension Door out of the Kobold warren, nor will you be able to summon creatures via summoning spells.
A web will bar your passage into the cave if you do not complete the "Defeat the Kobold patrols" objective. Go back and look for stealthy wolves hiding toward the middle of the clearing near the gate.
You can use the second (north-east) shrine twice, even when on Hard or Elite, once coming in when you are small, and then again going out, after using the artifact, when you are large.
If you are doing the "Explore the source of the squeaks" (Ratcher) optional, you must complete it before approaching and using the artifact.

During this part, when you come to a door that will not open, use blast or hack to bust the wall / door down.

Latecomers who want the end chest must run to the very end (south-east room), use the artifact, then double back on the "alternate" tunnel to the chest. This tunnel partly overlaps the one that led you here.
- By observing the path of latecomers on the in-game map, you can see that the "oversized" effect is achieved by teleporting to a completely different section of the map, consisting of a scaled-down copy of the passages you've already been through. The traps and shrines are not actually reactivated – they are different traps and shrines altogether.
