Known Traps

Trap DCs

• A very high number of random traps. Don't be surprised to see 50+ traps.
• Since most of the traps are random the numbers for bonuses also change.
• Static traps:
  • Ice trap in the rightmost corridor near start.
  • Fire jets in the room with the tile puzzle.
  • Two lightning traps in the hallway after the puzzle room that inflict knockdown.
• The rest are random, often clusters of pressure plates or bear traps.

Tips and Misc

• When you first enter, speak with Dame Gold first – she'll talk for about 30 seconds while the party buffs up and waits for the door to proceed to become active.
• This quest has many traps, many are randomly located. Therefore, having a Rogue, in the group with a high Spot and Search skill could be beneficial. Very high elemental resistance/absorption or evasion is otherwise recommended.

• You can use many traps against your enemies. Draw and aggravate mobs with ranged weapons and kite them across trapped areas.

• It is possible to sneak past some monster groups; however, this might prevent you from completing some optional objectives, see Discussion.
• The large groups of slavers that you encounter in the upper Temple include enemies that can use: See Invisibility.
• The lower catacombs area is filled with large groups of enemies in the tunnels and caves, including spiders, Troglodytes, rats and rust monsters.
• There is an Umber Hulk ambush just past the shrine in the lower catacombs, where the chest and collectable are on the map. The chest won't appear until after you kill the Umber Hulks.

The Forsaken Temple puzzle

• The puzzle room is trapped; the panel is on the north wall next to the door.

• The blue lever activates the puzzle, allowing you to solve it. It will also activate flame jets on both walls that will shoot flame over the puzzle every 5 seconds or so. If you are patient, you can solve the puzzle while the flames are active. There is enough time during the pause between flame blasts to turn any tile and move off of the puzzle before the flames start again.
• Solving the puzzle will reward you with a chest that contains crafting ingredients, and will unlock the orange lever.
• The orange lever is locked to start, but can be unlocked using Knock or Open Lock. Using it will open the north door, disable the traps, and disable the puzzle if you have not already solved it. Using the blue lever will still activate the puzzle if you have used the orange lever and allow you to get access to the ingredient chest.

• The lightning traps in the next corridor have a Trip/knockdown effect in addition to doing damage. A save roll of 23 against the knockdown failed on Heroic Hard difficulty. A save roll of 33 failed against the knockdown on Heroic Elite difficulty.
• Picking up the shipping manifest, found near the end chest after defeating Sturm, concludes the quest.
