From DDO wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Snowpeaks Festival is a winter event introduced in January 2021 (Update 48 Patch 3), in which players defeat a unique type of champion, collect coins, and turn them in for icy rewards.

Flurry[edit]

Name: Flurry <Emmisary of the Snowpeaks>

Race: Elf

Gender: Female

Bestows Quest(s): The Snowpeaks, Too Cold to Continue

Receives Quest(s): The Snowpeaks, Too Cold to Continue

Location: Hall of Heroes, Eberron (South-East upper corner)

Collects:

Description: This Winter Eladrin only appears while the Snowpeaks Festival event is active.

Notes: She allows access to the Snowpeaks challenges for the price of 1 Frozen Key per run.
She also trades various Snowpeaks coins earned in the event for various Snowpeaks items.

Ingredients[edit]

This event uses four types of ingredient: Bronze Snowpeaks CoinBronze, Silver Snowpeaks CoinSilver, and Gold Snowpeaks CoinGold Snowpeaks Coins are used to purchase items from Flurry, while Frozen KeyFrozen Keys can be used to open challenges which yield high amounts of coins as described below.

Snowpeaks Coins can be found in the Snowpeaks Challenges, randomly in chests, or dropped by Scourge of the Snowpeaks champions (see below.) Frozen Keys have a small chance to drop in chests, can be dropped by Scourge of the Snowpeaks Champions, or may be purchased from the DDO Store. Keys purchased from the store are Bound to Account; all other ingredients are Unbound.

Monster champions[edit]

Icy crown

During the event Monster Champions get a more wintry appearance, with their standard champion crown turning an icy blue.

A Subverted Titan Defender with Scourge of the Snowpeaks

While the event is active, a new type of Monster Champion, Scourge of the Snowpeaks, can appear in quests in place of other champion types. These champions gain a damage boost, Cold Absorption and Spell Resistance and are covered in a shell of ice. On death, they will drop a chest with a small amount of one type of Snowpeaks Coin (selected randomly) and a chance to yield a Frozen Key.

Challenges[edit]

The challenges cost a Frozen Key to enter. This key is consumed when you enter the challenge, and is not refunded if you exit without completing it.

The Snowpeaks challenge (aka The Peak)[edit]

  • Slide down a ramp and collect up to 91 coins.
  • There's a chest at the end with more coins (3d4 Bronze, 2d4 Silver, 1d4 Gold).

Too Cold to Continue challenge (aka The Climb)[edit]

  • Introduced in 2022.
  • A long and complex jumping course yielding about half as many coins as The Snowpeaks (4 chests, each with 3d4 Bronze, 2d4 Silver, 1d4 Gold) and a guaranteed legendary item (The Immortal Sun Flask). (This item cannot be consumed for Sentient Weapon experience.)
    • Unless you particularly enjoy DDO platforming or want to get your hands on an Immortal Sun Flask, this challenge is significantly less efficient than the sliding challenge - it takes longer and yields less rewards. (Don't run this challenge as a party if you want the Sun Flask - only one spawns in the quest, lying on the ground, and once someone has picked it up it can't be passed between characters.)

Related items[edit]

Available form the DDO Store:

  • Elixir of Frosty Luck: Luck of the Peaks: 10% chance of to the chance of finding Frozen Keys and Snowpeaks Coins from every chest. The effect timer pauses while you are in public areas. Single use. Duration: 1 hour
  • Greater Elixir of Frosty Luck: Luck of the Peaks: 15% chance of to the chance of finding Frozen Keys and Snowpeaks Coins from every chest. The effect timer pauses while you are in public areas. Single use. Duration: 1 hour

Reward items[edit]

Notes:

  • Flurry's reward list remains largely consistent between years except for occasional new items. The above list is sorted by the year an item was first introduced as an option in her shop dialogue (this does not necessarily match the year the item itself was added to DDO, as many of the items in her original 2021 list were previously available from DDO's original winter seasonal events, the Midwinter Festival and Risia Ice Games.)
  • The Trinket is a Bound to Character on Acquire Craftable Trinket (+5).
  • Cookies obtained from Flurry's shop are the same as those obtained from that year's run of Festivult.
